Sangria with a smile

Glass of sangria in hand, Maria walked over and smiled at her latest client.

‘So tell me’, she opened suggestively, ‘have you ever done this before?’

Her client, a gentleman in his forties, nervously shook his head.

‘First time hey. Well, there’s nothing to worry about. Just relax and enjoy yourself.’

Putting her glass down, Maria pulled the zip up on her flight-suit and stepped outside. Still in the waiting area, her client tentatively edged his way out, fear now apparent as he joined her on the sub-orbital platform.

‘Too late to change your mind now honey’, she said, grinning wickedly. ‘Only one way down from here!’

  1. Are there innuendos in here or is it just my mind!! Good Story 🙂

  2. Nice piece of misdirection.

  3. I’m still not sure what’s going on but for that I applaud it 😀

  4. I’m not sure either – I thought they were going to do a parachute jump but the sub-orbital platform threw me!

  5. Well done. I bet I’d find a way back inside if I decided not to jump at the last minute. That sounds like an extreme sport at its most extreme.

    • Funnily enough, I’m also terrified of heights and would do my best to get out of jumping. Maria’s last statement is therefore even more powerful, as the jumper must now realise he has no other choice.

  6. Oooh!No wonder he was scared !;-)A fantastic take on the prompt 🙂

  7. Loved that. It might be my twisted male mind, but of course I thought she was open for business, so to speak. Your plot twist saved me from myself though so I thank you for that!

  8. You had me going there. Was this a therapy jump?

  9. Dear Weltchy,

I had a feeling at the beginning you were going to take me in another direction from where it seemed to be going. Nice job. BTW…it would take a lot more sangria to get me to jump out of a plane. Nicely done.

    shalom,

    Rochelle

  10. You make it sound so easy…space travel…or is it sky diving? Whichever. I’d need a few pitchers to get me up there with only one way down. Great one!

  11. I’d feel the same way. That actually sounds like fun! Enjoyed this one.

  12. I love surprises.. but I have to read it several times to understand she was zipping up and not zipping down…

  13. Very good take on the prompt! Love it, but HATE heights so I would be scared to death. The zipper was clever as was the whole story. You are a great writer! Thanks, Nan
