Well, I missed last weeks submission as I was too ill to get anything down on paper, so to speak. Had some ideas in my head when I saw the photo prompt on wednesday, then wham, thursday hit and that was me out for a good few days. I’m up and running however, and just in time for this weeks challenge luckily. This weeks story is something a bit more light hearted, so you will have to excuse the “Sheepish” grin I have whilst you read my latest submission.
Anyways, below is my 100 word (ish) submission to the Friday Fictioneers. Photo prompt this week is courtesy of Sandra Crook.
As always, comments are appreciated. I try to read everyone’s submission, but with submissions reaching triple digits each week, it’s sometimes difficult to get round to each one. Therefore, I tend to read those who I follow, or who like / comment my story. And finally, I also try for a random selection from the list.
The Friday Fictioneers are a friendly group of online writers from all over the globe who endeavour to create short but fantastical tales with which to enthral and inspire both reader and writer alike. The genres and styles of writing are varied, so there is something for everyone to be found within its midst.
Today, my people, we embrace a new world; a place of freedom with the right to choose who we are without fear of retribution.
Freed from bondage, we shall liberate our people, those still held in servitude, whilst striking against those who would oppose us.
No longer shall they deny us our basic freedoms. A roof for the night or even a warm coat.
And let us not forget the barbarism we have witnessed first-hand. The slaughter of children for food shall not be tolerated.
I, Lambicus, swear by all that is holy. Mankind’s reign of terror is over.
